Welcome to the Surrey & Sussex Balloon Group (SSBG).

The SSBG, formed over 15 years ago, is a regional Hot Air Balloon club and is affiliated to the British Balloon and Airship Club (BBAC).

We are a friendly club and welcome new members. The aim of the club is act as a focal point for Hot Air Ballooning in this area, provide training, arrange social occasions and to promote the sport of ballooning  with the general public. The club covers the counties of Surrey and Sussex and has over 100 members, including professional and private pilots, crew, families and people who are just interested in Hot Air Ballooning.  In addition to flying in the local area many of the pilots and crew have experience flying all over Europe and many exotic places around the World.

Membership is open to anyone interested in ballooning. You do not have to live in the Region - many join because they fly in the area or enjoy attending our 'out of season' monthly meetings. Scheduled club nights are normally held on the third Monday of the month, but special events, such as training days, are organised throughout the year. We aim to arrange balloon 'flyouts' and meets during the year, sometimes in conjunction with other regional balloon clubs.
